San Juanico Cove to Puerto Ballandra, Final blog of Leg 2
Saturday May 3rd, 2008
Today was the last full day of Leg 2. We left San Juanico Cove and headed southbound to Puerto Bellandra, which is directly across from Loreto on a small island and about 20 miles from San Juanico. Light conditions meant nice slow sail across flat seas. According to Bruce’s calculations, today was the most successful fishing day. Not because we caught anything, except for seaweed, but because today, Bill lost no lures. Once anchored in San Juanico cove we did some more snorkeling. Here the water was the clearest it has been the whole trip and was an amazing torquoise color. Tonight consisted of watching a beautiful sunset out over the baja coast. Tomorrow, we will meet up with the incoming crew in Loreto, and will celebrate Bills birthday. (which he was trying to keep secret, so I figured this would be a great way to let everyone know.) Cynthia, Bruce and myself(Clyde) will depart as we hand over the boat to Lowell, Frankie, Richard, and Kerry, with Bill staying on. This week has been truly fantastic, with exceptional sailing, great winds, great boat, and a fun crew. The quick recap of week 2 of the 08 baja cruise: We have seen lots of aquatic life, Did some great snorkeling, had some amazing sailing, found some great new anchorages, didn’t catch any fish, ran out of beer and vodka and tequila and wine and scotch, (luckily we ran out today) but we fortunately still had some rum to get us by. The week went by extremely quickly, but was the best time. This picture shows how most of our trip was: I now hand back the blog writing responsibilities to Lowell and sign off. Thanks for reading. -Clyde new Updates are posted click here Contact us at emailsailors07@gatolocosailing.com Read more about Gato Loco cruises www.GatoLocoSailing.com |
