West Bound (a family update)
Heading for Denver Co. (A family update) First order of business, returning to Gallatin, was to spend time with our Golden Neely after leaving her with my mother for 3 weeks. She was extremely happy to be reunited. While we were gone she also had fun hanging out with the neighbor dog Jake. Frankie loves setting on Mom’s patio reading and playing with Neely and Jake. I will have to check when we head west to make sure that Frankie hasn’t snuck Jake into the motor home somewhere. Weather in Missouri has been very pleasant and even cool at night. One evening we visited cousins Phyllis and Rex who live on Lake Viking near Gallatin. A sunset cruise on the lake brought out the jackets and blankets.
. . . . . We drove to Omaha to make a delivery to cousin Scott and family. We hadn’t seen them since their family had grown from 4 to 6. We had a great time with them all.!
Missouri Mules. . Buggy below left has a trailer with building materials. Right, an Amish man works his team of horses mowing pasture grass. . .
. . . . . .
. I had to put a picture of cousin JD and newest grandson Case and the proud parents Jay and Kate. . . .
I’m writing this setting in Phillipsburg Kansas about half way between Gallatin and Denver on HW36. We took this smaller highway today on the northern border of Kansas to stay in the green farm country. Couldn’t resist stopping and taking pictures in a huge sunflower field in full bloom. . . . . . . . Tomorrow (Sunday) we will drive into Denver to spend Labor Day with my cousin Jamie and Jeff who live in a historic area in the city. We’ve never been to their home so we are both looking forward to it. If it sounds like we’ve seen a lot of my cousins, we have, and enjoyed it very much. Until the next update.
