Gato Loco, 10 days and counting
Easter weekend and spring break for Haley, Murril and Al’s youngest, gave us a good reason to get Gato Loco out sailing. Haley wanted to come to Cholla for her break and it was our treat to have her. Beautiful weather and fun people watching made for a special day on the water. Gato Loco looks to be ready for the cruise. It’s too bad Haley and Murril can’t go cruising with us…
Leg 1 last chance
It’s the last chance for someone or couple to join Doug and I on Leg 1. The logistics of leg 1 are:
Friday morning April 20th drive to Cholla, Saturday final provisioning (could join us on Sat),
Early Sunday morning April 22nd depart for Baja,
Arrive Puerto Escondido May 3rd,
Friday May 4th fly to Hermosillo and bus back to Penasco with Doug.

Weather for our departure looks good and the extended 14 day forecast although not totally reliable looks good for Victor and friends to join us on Baja for a few days. Bill plans on joining Victor to get a little Baja fix and will join us on the leg 2 Seawind Rally.
Our plans after leg 2 may be changing since Bill will not be sailing after leg 2 so stay tuned as there may be some new opportunities to sail with us.

Victors plans (weather permitting) would be to join Gato Loco in Puertecitos, actually they’ll be there way before Gato Loco since they can cruise at 30kts and we cruise at 7kts. The plan is to dive the Puertecitos area down to San Luis over a couple of days and then on to Alfonsina’s in Gonzaga to refuel and relax before heading back to Penasco. Here’s a link to our visit to the area last year… https://www.gatolocosailing.com/blog/?p=4462
Here’s charts for Leg 1.

We will take a relaxed 12 day cruise to Puerto Escondido and the Loreto Fest activities. I hope we continue to have less drama than what we started with last season..
