Let Baja 2011 Begin, Adios Puerto Penasco
Can you believe it! Our cruise start “the drive to Penaoco” didn’t go quite as well as expected. Our truck “diesel” was in the hospital recently and was given a clean bill of health. We headed for Penasco and only made it a few miles after picking up Leg 1 crew Steve at the airport before we were stranded again. A quick tow back to the house for another vehicle and we were on our way. We’re very thankful it happened in town and not in Mexico this time.
Weather heading south was great, light breezes. Arriving in Cholla we found the Sea smooth with a nice breeze blowing.
Steve poses at Cholla66 during our brief stop to pick up supplies. All is quiet in Cholla but Penasco is already jumping with Ester visitors.
.
We spotted Brian & Heather at JJs as we headed for the boat and stopped for a quick goodbye..

.
After picking up cruise t-shirts we meet Bill & Carol at pork tacos and then back to the boat to finish readying for our 5AM departure
Bill & Carol wished us luck as they left us late tonight (Carol is the Photog here)
