Gato Loco Sailing 2011, Plans underway
Riding the Waves to Loreto
Preparing the schedule for our 2011 sailing season I ran into a verse about our first leg sailing with crew Frankie, Neely, John and verse author Craig heading south to Loreto. At that time we thought it would be nice to polish it a little and bring it alive with musical accompaniment. Recently I reminded Craig about the verse which inspired him to do just that. The music you hear as you open this update is Craig’s song. It will become the theme for this years cruise I’m sure. Steve on Barramundi is a Seawind musician so I can see us setting around the campfire on the Seawind Rally singing this song. The words are at the end of this update. Right, Craig on Gato Loco last season.
Our plans are firming up for our 2 month sailing season. Loreto Fest is April 29 – May 1 giving us an anchor for our planning. Legs will reach from Puerto Penasco our home port in the northern sea to La Paz near the Cap.
Here Gato Loco’s sailing plans. There are still a few openings so if you’re interested get back to us ASAP.

Riding the Waves to Loreto (By Craig Reay)
We’re riding the waves to Loreto
Wind blowing what’s left of our hair
We’re sailing with good companeros
I hope we’ll be seeing ya there.
We’ll soon be in Puerto Escondido
With sailors from far and from near,
We’ll swap tales and curse the mosquitos
We’ll laugh and we’ll drown in our beer.
Hope the wind will be fair in Loreto,
We’ll bask in the dawn’s early light,
Then just like sombrero’d bandidos,
We’ll be off like thieves in the night.
We’re riding the waves to Loreto
We’re brash and we’re “devil may care”
We may move a bit des-pac-ito.
(But) we do it with bravado and flair.
We’ll soon be in Puerto Escondido
Providing the weather is clear,
With ole salts and weathered amigos
We’ll toast to another good year.
Hope the wind will be fair in Loreto,
We’ll bask in the dawn’s early light,
Then we’ll leave you with fond despedidos
And set sail like a seagull in flight…
Just like those fabled bandidos…
We’ll be off like thieves in the night.

What a great song!
Can we buy a copy on itunes?
John & Regina, Are you heading south to the Loreto area this season? Dream Catcher is probably itching to go sailing.
That is a great song. Enjoyed listening to it while scanning your plans. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful trip. See you in Cholla
Nice Song Craig. Thanks for the update Lowell. It brings back many fond memories of our voyage last year. The idea of being out ofthe MidWest Winter and back in sunny Mexico with friends puts an ache in my heart.
Seeing these pictures really spurs me into making this trip. You do such a good job Lowell.
I absolutely love your new music and it really suits you. Love all the blogs and updates. You guys rock.
