Gato Loco heads south after 2 days of weather in Puerto Penasco
9PM Thursday night
Leg 1 crew, Lowell, Frankie, Neely, Craig & John watch the rain pour down as a storm rolls through Penasco around 9 PM. We’re hoping this is the last of the cold weather front delaying our departure. It’s a rare sight to see rain in Penasco and especially on the boat. Frankie and Neely usually sleep on salon floor but with the cold weather and now rain they slept in the salon berth where we posed for this picture.
5AM Friday April 23
After clearing fishing nets from both engines in the Penasco harbor, we’re underway. Destination Puerto Lobos direction 150 and 68 miles to waypoint near the Puerto Lobos light house.
Rain most of the night, clear skys now. The boat is very wet from the rain but crew are happy to finally start the 2010 cruise.
Until the next update…
