Leg 7 Just when we thought it was all over……..NOT
![]()
Coming into Santa Rosalia…will anchor in the marina tonight. Yhay, showers with unlimited hot water.
At our delicious rotiserie chicken lunch restaurant where we were served delightful margaritas (again)…we happened to bump into Frankie and Lowell’s friends M & M (Myron and Marilyn). Small world!
And here’s the five of us … cozy as can be.
Our tour guide Bill showed us all the sights thoughout Santa Rosalie including the museum, Santa Barbara church built by Eiffel, the hotel at the mine, and the bakery…mmmmmm.
Stopped for ice cream and refreshing bevies (squeezed orange juice on the spot).
Digging for gold…
Fernando was kind enough to take a shot of us dining at his Pizza Restaurant.
Oh Boy…Mike’s Runway Pizza.
Garlic Shrimp….yum!!
A little light excersize before dessert.
The Dooble Dooble had Dooble Dogs for dessert.
Bill successfully got us out of the marina at 4 am this morning for the long sail across the Sea of Cortez….
Our last sunrise at sea.
And now the serious tales begin…..
First we spotted a Marlin…
Then we saw spectacular whale tails….they were also breaching, mating, and blowing….
Left speechless…
And still the tales continue….Mike snags a Dorado.
Beautiful…these are the best eating….on ice as we speak.
Bill still on a break????????OMG!
Keeping Score….as usual Mike C’s idea. Great wins by all!

Hello to all that were involved in the cruse, the blog was greatly enjoyed by the people land locked. Being from south Florida that trip brought back great memories of boating in the islands. I hope all had a good time, thanks again.
Loved your blog!!! So exciting and fab pictures!!!! Can’t wait to hear ALLLLL the stories!!!
Hey guys, Excellent finish for the hollow leg crew. Frankie and I are very jealous of all your whale encounters, having not seen even one whale during our 3 weeks on board. Fun blog, great photos. Looks like Mike gets the largest fish award. Maybe we should save it for a crew party in Cholla. Thanks for taking the time to do the blog.. Safe travels home..
Hi everyone – it’s been a delight to tune in to the fun and adventures over the past few months. The Blog has been fantastic and has kept the dream alive for all of us that weren’t lucky enough to be part of the great 2009 adventure. I’m now going to have to find something else to do when I first arrive at work each day. Lowell, Frankie & Bill – you’ve created a monster – I can’t see how you’ll be able to plan anything other than a Baja cruise each spring for the rest of your lives.
At Seawind, we’ve all enjoyed the fun and it’s great to feel that we’ve played a small part in it all.
Awesome!!! Can’t wait to see you! Going up to hang out with Kyle tonight!!!
Enjoy life…. Good for you all……. Have fun and be safe…
Absolutely Brilliant!!! Thanks for sharing your trip with us landlocked desert rats!
