Baja09 Leg2 off to Great Start
9 AM Sunday morning, wind out of the NW at 8-10, seas 2′, making 7+ motorsailing, 46kms remain of the 72 to cross to Santa Rosalia. Strategy is to get as far across as we can before the afternoon winds build. Bill’s experience this past week has been serious winds in the afternoon (usually 30+).

On to cleaner topics… 12 noon, 12kts wind, 7.5kts boat speed, warm breeze in our face and 26kms remaning. We look to make Santa Rosalial 4ish.. A perfect crossing so far. New technolgy on board. We have a Telcel 3G wireless card in the Gato Loco computer that allows us to connect to the internet and send mail at a much 4 PM sails down as we enter Santa Rosalia horbor after 3 hours of motor free sailing in 18-20kts winds on our beam. 72kms in 11 hours with comfortable seas… Sorry Leg 1 crew..
