Ahoy!

Leg 1, day 6, April 16

Winds picked up during the night to about 16knts and cool air set in. After daybreak we noticed large swells to our west so it was decided to take an easy motorsail to Bahia San Francisquito. Once out the winds were averaging 20knts from the North-Northwest and again we surfed. Time was spent reading and resting. We pulled into San Francisquito around 11:00am, and didn’t care for the wave refraction around the point. Our only other option was an anchorage up the beach from the old Punta San Francisquito Resort. It was a good call. Beautiful beach with calm water. After setting anchor we took a long walk down the beach to see what the resort had to offer. It has a dirt airstrip and shacks for rent at $20 per night per person, restaurant cantina. Very primitive.

A short sail and a long rest was well deserved. Tomorrow we’re off to Ensenada Posomoreno on the mainland of Mexico. Original plan was Ensenada las Concinas but because of the predicted north winds better protection is needed.

Leg 3 April 26-3, Crew:Bill, Lowell, Frankie, Neely, Kerry Fahey (AU). Seawind Rally to Loreto Fest. Sail from Loreto heading south to meet Seawinds coming from Cabo, maybe meet 2 days south. Kurt will be sailing north from Cabo with California Seawind owners.
Leg 4 May 3-10, Crew:Bill, Frankie ,Lowell, Neely, Bob & Chris Sanders, Kerry Fahey (AU). Sail the Loreto area …. Steve and Cindy will also be in the Loreto area this week.
Leg 5 May 10-17, Crew:Bill, Lisa Wendt, Sally Dalton, Marilyn Haney. Frankie, Neely and I head back to San Carlos flying or by Ferry.
Leg 6 – May 17-24, Crew: Rick Quant & Crew sailing in the Loreto area.
Leg 7 – May 24-31, Crew: Bill, Mike Clark, Liane Guathier, Mike & Gill Panasewicz sail back to San Carlos
Leg 8 – May 31-?, Crew: Bill & his family sail San Carlos back to Puerto Penasco
