Leg 1, Day 3
Ahoy! Leg 1, Monday, April 13 The crew aboard Gato Loco hope all had a wonderful Easter. Our Easter in Gonzaga Bay was capped off with margs, great Mexican food, and a colorful sunset at Alfonsina’s restaurant. Monday we woke to calm conditions and clear skies. Next stop Puerto Refugio on the northern end of Isla Angle De La Guardia. Two miles out Craig and John aboard Sting Raey began to experience motor problems again and decided to return to Gonzaga Bay , head to Puertocitos tomorrow and then home to Puerto Penasco. We’re sorry to see them leave and wish them well on their journey home.
It’s 1:30 and it appears it’s another quiet day motorsailing-not a breath of air!
At 4:30 we enter Puerto Refugio under calm conditions and few bugs. Cynthia, the card shark, cooked up a great steak and veggies and then finished us off in Spades. The majority of the night was spent sleeping soundly but as the sun began to rise the winds began to pick up out of the south.
Until the next Update… The GatoLoco Crew
