Leg 1 Isla San Luis to Gonzaga
Ahoy! Leg 1, day 2 Gato Loco exited Puerto Penasco’s harbor at 6:20pm with the sun, swells and wind on our nose and the Rocky Point Easter weekend zoo at our backs. I’ve never seen so many people in that town. About two hours after sunset Clyde alerted me to the most spectacular phosphorescent show I’ve ever seen. Waves spashed on the fore deck and for several seconds lit up the entire deck. The white caps looked like headlights coming at us as far as the eye could see. The crossing took us 16 hrs. with the crew on 3 hr. shifts. Exhausting!!! Easter morning brought calm seas with light winds and many whales. As we pulled into Isla San Luis our companion boat, Sting Raey, began to experience engine problems. We decide to cut exploring short and head into Gonzaga Bay for repairs.

Hey Lowell and Frankie! Just thought I’d say hello! Glad you guys are still having fun out there. Seems like forever since we’ve seen you. Paul continues his mountain hiking and I’m still having fun in the consulting realm. Working on the border again (manufacturing) on a leadership program for a group of Mexican managers….but whales are cooler!
Hope you are all happy and healthy…Bises, Lisa
