Gato Loco Leg 1 south bound to Loreto Baja
The April 24th departure date is coming up fast. Frankie and I were in Penasco working the final details for readying Gato Loco for the cruise. The checklist grew to over 15 items but over the week we 
managed to get things done. I have to thank Frankie, Ed and Marcia for their help. Gato Loco is now ready to head south. I always say that there’s nothing like a big cruise to get the boat in top shape. Just a wash, bottom clean and provisions then Chris, Ed and Marcia and I will be off for Loreto and Puerto Escondido weather permitting.
I’m writing this Monday the 22nd and the weather is very active in the northern Sea. Wind forecasts are changing daily but the good news is we should have wind to sail south. The Google Earth map shows our cruise options. Winds might send us Puerto Lobos on the Sonoran coast or Puertecitos on Baja on our first day out.
Co-captain Chris flies in tonight and we head to Penasco early tomorrow morning to finish departure details joining Ed and Marcia that have been busy provisioning Gato Loco.

WE are currently in La Paz. Flying out on Saturday on a one day round trip to Tijuana to renew our visas and then on Sunday we are heading to the rally. Can’t wait to see you guys!
