Live from Gato Loco
Tuesday May 3rd
Jumping ahead a bit. San Juanico and Coronados report later.
Nice overnight anchorage at Isla Coronados. No bees to report. Motoring to get Murril in to Loreto in time for his covid test for his 4 pm fight back to LAX.
Murril and Rick departing after 9 days on board. What an awesome cruise with these guys.
Loreto marina is charging 95 pesos per person to use the breakwater dock and 39 pesos for trash. Not good!
Chris working with the new crew on board. Welcome aboard Ed and Eric (Eric is the tall one).
Town is busy with a cruise ship anchored in front of the break water marina.
Heading to Pt. Ballandra and Ed has two hook ups on the motor crossing. No wind for our 11:30 crossing.
2 boats in the anchorage, probably the fewest I’ve seen here. Water is crystal clear so in the water we go.
Ed’s busy catching trigger fish for dinner.
We’re going to do a hike to the mountains to the west of the anchorage for sunset. Jumping in the dinghy one tube is very soft. Found a 10 year old patch failed. Chris and Eric launch the paddle boards to do the hike while Ed and I do the repair on the dinghy.
Thanks guys for the great photos and yes our dinghy repair is successful. Hamburgers for dinner, saving the trigger fish for tomorrow.
Good first day with the new crew. Chris is a great help getting the crew up to speed.
All good on Gato Loco… Heading to Puerto Escondido today.
Until the next update.
