April 26, Readying to cross to Mulege, Baja
Cruisin to Loreto Fest April 26th, Marina San Carlos
Great job guys! Reading Bill and Dave’s big update for their cruise to San Carlos was great. Bill now has to find out why is phone isn’t working outside the Penasco region. I was able to send it at local wireless hot spot… This morning O-dark-thirty turned out to be a 6 AM departure from Phx. No delays during the drive to San Carlos allowed us to make it in 7 1/2 hours (still a loooong drive). We arrived with sunny skies and very comfortable weather. Gato Loco was setting ready to sail on the fuel dock at the marina. End-ties that will hold Gato Loco are getting very scarce here with most taken by full time commercial boats. We quickly moved provisions to the boat and made a quick run for ice and beer. Bill and Dave headed north in our car to Cholla Bay around 2:30 and Dave was thinking of driving to Phoenix after arriving in Cholla Bay (that’s a long drive!). We’ve now got to slow the pace down.
I took lots of pictures today BUT as I pushed my memory card into the reader it snapped and broke so all my shots are lost. This was probably due to the fact that the Suns lost to the Lakers tonight and I’m just a little upset. Maybe tomorrow I can fix the card. If not, there’s always new shots (x!xxx!!! Lakers).. We’ve decided to head to Mulege tomorrow. Weather forecast indicates 7-12kts of wind and overcast which should be good. I will finish the update as we head out tomorrow. Underway at 6 AM. Weather as expected, mid 60s as we depart. Seas a little bumpy. Mulege 78 miles ahead with an ETA of 6:30. (x!xxx!!! Lakers)..
