Gato Loco Northern Sea Fun part 2
Part 1 of this update is lost in cyber space in Bay of LA. We’ll send part 2 and re-create part 1 as we sail south. Bay of LA is always an internet challenge. Enjoy what we saved. The first photo of part 2 has us relaxing at Alfonsina’s in Gonzaga.
More crossing recovery
Alfonsina’s has made a lot of improvements including a new 3 story addition that’s still under construction.
Fantastic view from the restaurant
Friday May 3rd
We’re off to Puerto Refugio 44 NMs SE on Isla Angel de la Guardia. Forecast was for light winds and the trip was pretty much an all motor sail.
Platies on our way to Refugio
Arriving 5ish we take our usual anchorage between Isla Mejia and La Guardia.
Anchor down with boo boo (gnats) netting up just in case. Dave and Norman head out fishing and Sara and I go out paddle boarding. Water is much cooler here but the paddle boarders did brave the water for a very quick swim. Dave doing his best ‘the fly’ imitation.
The crew is now a finely tuned machine. Fantastic dinner and cocktails. A special treat for me was reaching Frankie on the satellite phone to check in…
Saturday May 4th
We’re up early to tackle Whale channel heading south to Bay of LA today.
All good on Gato Loco.
Until the next Update!
Beautiful photos!!
Looks like the start of another epic adventure on Gato Loco! Guinevere and I are in MPE getting things set for the Rally.
