Birthday Cruise Final Update–The Party

Friday June 2nd

Our last day on board finds us anchored in Beautiful Isla Coronados. As usual the bees find us quickly. Frankie and I send the crew ashore while we head to the far west anchorage to get rid of the bees. The pictures tell the story, white sand beaches, turquoise water although the water is not a clear as it can be.

Great place to spend some beach time relaxing, swimming, snorkeling and chasing sting rays cursing on the bottom.

 

 

 

Beautiful afternoon / evening and another great dinner while we enjoy our last night. No one can believe the week is over.

 

 

 

The crew with sad faces depart from Gato Loco but very happy when they see their hotel Posada de Flora. Awesome classic Mexico right on the plaza.

Since it’s Al Birthday month why not have yet another birthday party. Restaurant Canipole is a classic outdoor family kitchen where Sophia and family cook for you in private dinning experience. There’s nothing like it and they went for Al’s birthday party with a candy bar with chocolate fountain.

 

As you can tell we had a fabulous time with the entire familia including birthday cake

 Another epic Allison birthday vacation. Can’t wait for the next one.

Monday June 5th

The north bound crew is on board and we’re well provisioned.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY

The autohelm situation has been resolved. Marc and Laurie on Trovita had a spare motor they loaned us. I’ve found 2 new motors in  San Francisco that Al will ship to us. Marc and Laurie may haul out in Penasco for the summer and we want to take care of them for their epic save of Gato Loco so we don’t have to hand steer all the way home Penasco., Also our VHF communication radio had died. Rick brought a new one and we got it installed and working yesterday. With these fixes we’re ready to head north today.Looks like we’ll be in San Juanico toinight and out of internet range for 2 days.
