Yesterday (Saturday) we meet up with Richard & Kerry mid-day. They had a good but long trip from Sydney and are slowly adjusting to local time. They seemed to following the right remedy by walking a lot, \"IMGshopping a lot & drinking margaritas a lot. After Richard recovered from the margaritas 6ish we decided to take a drive to Puerto Escondido to visit Loreto Fest and see all the boats. For the drive we also invited two young ladies camped near us who have been working in Guadalajara with children. They are from Canada and England and are at the end of their Mexico work and heading to La Paz today and then home.<\/p>\n

.\"IMGLoreto Fest is a bit smaller this year maybe 60 boats. We were hoping for the usual evening musical entertainment but this Saturday night is DJ\/dancing night. There’s no dancers in our group tonight so we headed back to Loreto for dinner. Restaurant “La Fuente” av Salvatierra #88 had good local fish and beef and was definitely off the tourist beat.<\/p>\n

Sunday, Town is very quiet. This is a holiday weekend (Monday being the holiday). We will meet Richard and Kerry at noon to do some provision shopping and then meet Gato Loco in Puerto Escondido. But first, time for a morning walk on the beach.<\/p>\n

\"IMGRichard and Kerry’s hotel (old Inn) is very Baja-ish with open air community area and rooms around it. \"IMGThe owner from California restored it a couple years ago. It’s right next to the Plaza and only $60 a night. Recommended www.ladamianainn.com<\/a> <\/p>\n

The owner of La Damiana reminded us that Sunday is market day on the south side of town. Kerry, Frankie and I went for fresh veggies & Fruit while Richard finished up last minute emails..\"IMG<\/p>\n

Next stop Puerto Escondido to meet Leg 2 crew. We arrived to see them motor into the harbor. Fuel, water and a more than ample amount \"IMGof provisions loaded and it’s time for tonight main activity, Bill’s birthday party at the Trupi resort near the harbor. Clyde, Bruce & Cynthia wanted to take care of their skipper (& the rest of us) with huge tequila shots after dinner. Excellent dinner as always and with margaritas & shots everybody is in good form. <\/p>\n

Final decision of the night is to leave Gato Loco on the dock for the night instead of trying anchor after all our dinner activities. \"IMG<\/p>\n

Thanks to the Leg 2 crew for their hard work and beating Bill on a regular basis at hearts.. Thank you Amigos\/Amigas..<\/p>\n

With long sad faces, Clyde, Bruce & Cynthia climbed into a loreto taxi that took them off into the darkness back to Loreto with another leg of Baja08 in the blog.<\/p>\n

They still have some adventuring in front of them since they will be spending a little time in Loreto before flying back to Puerto Penasco. It’s sure nice having flights in to Penasco via AeroMexico now.<\/p>\n
