A fun weekend in Cholla with the best Peacemaker concert in years\u2026 What a great way to start Leg 7 to bring Gato Loco home to Puerto Penasco. Saturday morning May 8th we awoke with waves crashing at our Cholla casa. Today is concert day that starts with a soccer tournament on the beach at Wrecked. A new moon and high tides made for interesting games as the surf slowly consumed the soccer fields.<\/p>\n

Awesome weekend for people watching with probably more than 4000 concert goers in town. Left Page, Blaze and Frankie enjoy the beach action.<\/p>\n

This year the concert was on the west end of the Reef RV park. Fans staying the the RV park had the perfect tailgate party spot while we all walked the distance of the park to get to the concert venue.<\/p>\n

A breeze night created perfect weather for the concert. I think Roger the the band had to be very happy with what everybody thought was a awesome concert event.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Sunday May 9th<\/p>\n

Today we take the bus from Penasco to Hermosillo for an overnight layover and head to Santa Rosalia tomorrow. Why not start the trip with Owen\u2019s bloodymarys. Right, Frankie and Debbie bid us goodbye as we wait for our 12 noon bus.<\/p>\n

In Hermosillo safe and sound, Well maybe\u2026 All 4 of us plus our gear hop in a small Toyota taxi, dragging bottom over every speed bump. A good Sonoran steak dinner finished off day one of the 4 amigos adventure.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Monday May 10th \u2013 Santa Rosalia<\/p>\n

Okay you\u2019ve probably seen enough of the 4 amigos.. We had a smooth flight to Santa Rosalia arriving early (10:30 Baja). Weather here is hot as expected. Everything on Gato was in great shape so our priority was to get the boat washed, have some food in a restaurant with AC. Grab our provisions and head north sailing into the night in search of a cooler anchorage. If the seas are flat calm as I expect we might try to take anchorage in Trinidad otherwise we\u2019ll keep sailing until San Francisquto 14 hours north. <\/p>\n

Well best layed plans\u2026 3:30 and we exiting the marina swimming pool for our last cool down and 3:45 We cast off heading north.<\/p>\n

Let the Sailing adventure begin. Here\u2019s hoping it goes as smooth as the bus, hotel and flight this morning.<\/p>\n
