In New York City<\/font><\/p>\n

\"IMGWe flew through Washington DC to get to New York. After DC ground delays & flying in a holding pattern over NY we arrived to very nice weather Friday. \"IMGMurril & Al arrived shortly after us and we joined long time friends David & Kate for dinner. They live in the city and took us to one of their local favarate restaurant and on to some Soho bars.<\/p>\n

John & Carol flying from San francisco were delayed landing @ 11:30 missed \"IMGour evening out. We finished the evening with some deserts from little Italy.<\/p>\n

.Saturday we all meet for a day of sightseeing starting in lower Manhattan at ground zero. To cover the city we jumped on the red city tour bus with entertaining guides \"IMGgiving us all kinds of information. We even had a special NY experience when our bus driver got in a altercation with a cab driver resulting in squad cars arriving \"IMGand taking both the bus & cab drivers away in cuffs. We had to move to another bus! We ended the bus tour at Central Park taking a nice walk in the park. It turns out our Marriott hotel is in walking distance of Central Park by walking down 5th avenue to Rockefeller Center and walking 5 blocks East to Lexington actually next to Waldorf Astoria, We’re staying here compliments of Murril’s airline mileage (Thank you Murril).<\/p>\n

Our big plans for Saturday night was to go on Hudson River Cruise around the Statue of Liberty listening to Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers on the boat the Temptress.. Al’s cousin Rob and his wife Liz joined us and added a lively local New York edge. I love the local accent.<\/p>\n

The 8 of us were able to meet with Roger before the cruise in their tour bus. We have to thank Roger for the all the hospatality. Thank you Amigo, you now have 6 new fans who loved your music. It was a perfect night with forecasted weather not showing and a full moon rising over the city as we cruised back from lady liberty. The Peacemakers had the crowd rocking and crying for more as we arrived back at the dock.<\/p>\n

Sunday was a challenging day, We started doing some shopping in Soho but rain ran us into a Soho bar and after hanging for a while and deciding the weather was here to stay we jumped in a cab and headed for the Museum of Modern Art in uptown Manhattan.<\/p>\n

MoMA is huge and with the rain was very busy. John is an artist and especially enjoyed the modern painting exhibits. Below he is pictured with the famas work “Stare Night”..<\/p>\n

Today, Monday, we fly to Athens to start the next leg of the cruise. I guess we will no longer be on the road to Greece. Being there live and in person will be incredible after all the anticipation. We will soon see more of our cruise mates.<\/p>\n

Just saw John & Carol in the croud at the “Good Morning Americaa” Show!! New York City.. Fun Fun..<\/p>\n
