\nLa Lancha Anchorage on Isla Carmen<\/p>\n

Night 2 of our Seawind Rally was spent in the La Lancha anchorage on the north shore of Isla Carmen. This anchorage is connected with the salt operation with a road and was used to deliver workers and supplies from Loreto with the shortest connection. Good anchorage with enough sand bottom for all of us in clear water and rock ledges below Frankie on the point for good snorkeling.<\/p>\n

\"IMG John and Patsy hosted the evening with aucherio beef they purchased in La Paz. It brings back memories of dinners in La Paz except the deserts Patsy made were better.<\/p>\n

With light north winds during the day we had a slight wave rolling into the anchorage during the night. There must have been stronger winds somewhere north. Weather continues to be perfect for sleeping & swimming.<\/p>\n

Next anchorage San Jaunico 18 miles north on the Baja coast. Time to take the Cubo Lista crew to one of the nicest Baja anchorages. No wind as we headed north and Kurt decided to launch his dingy for us to get some passage photos with smooth flat seas.\"IMG<\/p>\n

Notice we are now 3 boats. Moondirfter had things to sell at the Loreto Fest swap meet tomorrow morning (Friday) and headed that way as we headed north.<\/p>\n

Our crew watches Kurt & I play in the dingy\"IMG. It’s the first day that no breeze has appeared all day and crews are ready to swim when we arrive at Tres Pilars as we enter San Jaunico.<\/p>\n

Roy on Cubo Lista found a new spot to snorkel near the high sandstone wall south of Tres Pilars. There’s a deep cut with big fish. Neely was ready for a swim and we snorkel to shore and\"IMGswam among the rock canyons. I think she could swim for hours as she floats and only paddles to move around. The Vet we talked to in San Sabastian last week said swimming is great for strengthening her leg so we’re following orders.<\/p>\n

Fruits of our labors after swimming are some Tim Tams from Australia that Kerry has brought us. She’s done a good job of rationing them but we now know where her stash is \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

San Jaunico is a great place to go ashore. We even got Capt John from SeaEsta on the beach to walk to the cruiser tree to checkout all the crew markers. Cubo Lista crew will be creating a boat marker and will have a ceremony to add theirs tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Our anchorage for the night is the NW most bay behind the tall island with lots of cactus on it. Bottom is sand and good holding for the west winds that typically blow during the night\"IMG.<\/p>\n

Kurt’s vision of cruising Baja has always included having a beach cookout and this is a perfect place to do it. John and Patsy came through again with some pork hotdogs from La Paz. I think Kurt and Patsy had this all planned out<\/p>\n

After having a rolly night last night we’re in for a quiet night with a cool breeze from the west. Much too many margaritas and then lots of wine on the beach so it’s a early evening.<\/p>\n

Friday May 1 – I hoped to get up for the sunrise but as you can see in the photo right I was a little late. The jagged rocks of the anchorage island are very evident from the silhouette with one boat anchored near it.<\/p>\n

We’re off to Loreto Fest today with 38 miles to sail south down the coast. Looks like winds are back and probably on our nose. Damn wind Gods, anyway…<\/p>\n
