Sunday May 26th<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After a beautiful sunset and peaceful evening western wind swells blew in on us overnight making for the most uncomfortable night of this sailing season. Luckily our crew was pretty tired still and was able to get some sleep. It\u2019s one of those nights that you lay in your bunk and contemplate moving to calmer waters but put it off thinking things are calming down and they never do. My job now is to ensure we have calm anchorages for the rest of the Altfillisch cruise.<\/p>\n

When Pigs Fly <\/strong>is the Theme today. We\u2019re invited to a huge beach party on the Juncalito beach just north of Puerto Escondido 14 miles SW of our overnight Ballandra anchorage. Steve and Cindy are good friends of Ben and Jill who organized the party with over 100 people attending.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s live music and a huge feast with everybody brings a dish for 6 people. We get to meet a lot of Steve and Cindy\u2019s friends and some of our old Loreto fest friends.<\/p>\n

Our plans were to stay in the Juncalito Bay in front of Connie and Elvin\u2019s palapa home but winds are stronger out of the NE and as I said I have to find a very calm anchorage tonight after last nights rocking anchorage.We\u2019re off to Honey Moon Cove on Isla Danzante just east of Puerto Escondido. This is a small anchorage and we\u2019re hoping there will be anchorage space.<\/p>\n

We find 2 large motor yachts are setting in the outer anchorage as we round the corner. Honeymoon has a cool slot anchorage that will require a stern anchor and it\u2019s free. This will be a very calm night surrounded by island ridges on 3 sides inside the slot.<\/p>\n

Soon after we anchor, our Rally friends Eddie and Guinevere show up motoring over from Puerto Escondido to swim and enjoy this beautiful little cove. They missed their Sunday flight back to San Diego and are staying until Thursday working the WestCoast Multihull charter office.<\/p>\n

Before sunset Jeffrey and I muscle the oversized stern anchor and get things set for a peaceful night in \u201cHoneyMoon Cove\u201d<\/p>\n

Monday May 27th<\/p>\n

Happy Memorial Day<\/p>\n

Perfect anchorage and everyone slept like babies with a nice cool breeze through the night. Weather is still cooler than usual like the entire southwest.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I\u2019m net controller this morning on the SSB side band Amigo Net checking in boats all over the sea and reading weather for them.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fishing Report. Jeffrey has given it his best shot with his favorite lure but nothing caught. Not even a hookup.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We\u2019re off to Agua Verde anchorage 20 miles south to spend our Memorial Day starting with the awesome breakfast the ladies prepared.<\/p>\n
