<\/a><\/p>\nYou know it\u2019s always fun to have a newbie on board and see the reaction to the experience of cruising the Sea. John is certainly no exception and as many might know he is quite animated. His enthusiasm is on steroids which is contagious for Bill and I. Another perfect thing having him on board is he has willingly become the galley wench putting out great meals while we clean up behind him. <\/p>\n

Our Monday passage down whale channel to Bay of LA started out with light air while Bill cooked French toast but soon built to 15-18, conformable seas and a perfect time to put John back on the wheel. We\u2019ve had many harrowing stories sailing the channel but this passage was very pleasant and John did great.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Our pace this year is very relaxed giving us time to stop at the Smith Island anchorage which has a shallow pond between the east and west anchorage of the island. Smith is the northern most island as you enter the bay area.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The anchorage is know as Laguna Rada and the pond entrance is just north of the anchorage. You can see Gato Loco anchored in Bill\u2019s drone shot left. Beach bar \/ motel Guillermo’s is our usual anchorage spot. Their boat ramp continues to crumble so after our first shore landing we opted for a easier beach landing. Drinks under out belt we arranged a ride to the Pemex station only to find out there\u2019s no gas in town and the tanker should be in later tonight. On the Mercado for supplies and then relax for dinner at Guillermo’s. We\u2019ll get fuel tomorrow before we leave.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Before we retire there\u2019s always room for a nightcap. Sorry Murril, we\u2019ve loaded your Seleccion Suprema tequila on board for your sailing leg but it\u2019s just too temping.
