Thursday May 19th<\/p>\n

Looks like most of the boat that left San Juanico are anchored here in Santispac. Winds heading south were perfect. Engines off as we leave Mulege and we sail almost to our Santispac anchor location before give up sailing. Water is clear and warmer. One of our goals is to clean the bottom while we’re here and Rick goes to work on the port hull soon after we anchor. It’s going to be a day to eat out. We had breakfast at Serrindad, lunch at our Mexican spot and tonight it’s Armondo’s on the Santispac beach. Things are pretty quite and we almost have the place to ourselves. Bill, who lives in Mulege arrived after us and reminded us that this place is the best in the Bay. Good to know they’ve kept up things as we remember during years past.\"IMG_8253_resize\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"IMG_8254_resize\"<\/a>\"IMG_8256_resize\"<\/a>Most of the cruisers headed to Ana’s on the east end of the beach so we walked down after dinner and hung with them for a while. Nice group that have been sailing the same areas through the\u00a0 winter.<\/p>\n

Back on the boat and and we’re having a little 1942 nightcap thank’s to Jeffrey.<\/p>\n

Friday May 20th<\/p>\n

Best day sailing yet this season. We’re heading to Isla San Marcos 10 miles SW of Santa Rosalia. Sailing past Mulege towards Punta Chivato wind build to 20kt out of the ESE giving us a smokin broad reach and then a excellent down wind run through Craig’s Channel south of San Marcos and into Sweat Pea anchorage.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately bees soon run us out of the anchorage so we ghost out in the channel and then back into the Los Arcos anchorage an hour before sunset. The Los Arcos shore scape is pretty special and especially with the late evening light on it.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_8293_resize\"<\/a>\"IMG_8305_resize\"<\/a>Murril the bee killer. Moon rise and sunset timed perfectly.<\/p>\n

Saturday May 21st<\/p>\n

It’s the last day for Murril and Rick on board. We’re going to enjoy the Los Arcos sights and then head into Santa Rosalia to get things ready for the final Leg 6 into Penasco.<\/p>\n

Los Arcos on Isla San Marcos is one of my favorite places in the Sea of Cortez.<\/p>\n

Another awesome sail from San Marcos to Santa Rosalia. I can only hope we have this kind of winds heading north.<\/p>\n

Fuel, boat washed and time to relax with dock mates before heading out to dinner. WaveGlider with Barry, Sue and Riley the dog are here. Tom & Annie from Bellingham Wa greeted us grabbing dock lines as we arrive came by to spend some time with us before we head out.<\/p>\n

Saturday night and things are busy in Santa Rosalia. Great evening topped off with dinner that Tonka’s grill the place we tried during our last visit. Murril and Rick have a 5 AM bus ride back to Loreto and then flights home tomorrow. It’s been a wonderful week that went by much to fast. We’re all very sorry that Rob couldn’t join us.. Maybe next time.<\/p>\n
