Arriving Santa Rosalia, May 11th (Fri)
Cruisin North to Kino Arriving Santa Rosalia, May 11th (Fri)
Weather is noticeably warmer with a high pressure building. Talked with Frankie in Phoenix where it’s 104. Hope things change soon to create some wind. We motored all day with out wind arriving in Santa Rosalia early around 3:30 Rick is over temping so we head for the near by restaurant with AC. Rick and Marina haven’t been here before so we take them for a long walk thru the narrow streets of euorpean wooden homes built in the 1870s. See last years visit on our web site to see more about the town.. Back at the boat, our sunset activity May 12th Saturday… Up and out for breakfast and previsions. Our plans are to sail to Punta Trinidad 35 miles north so tomorrows crossing will only be 72 miles. Weather on the ham nets today looks very stable. Hoping to have wind. Rick just called his Kino Bay contact that will give him and Marina a ride to the Hermosillo airport. Weather in Kino is basicly the same and they indicated that winds have been laying down every night so we should be able to anchor near shore by Jorge’s restaurant in Old Kino. Tonight we will be out of communication range in a new anchorage for us plotted on the chart above. (11:30) Motoring out of Santa Rosalia harbor, winds 7kts out of the NE. Since we’re running along shore we hope to have good on shore solar wind.
Tom, note Rick’s message for you. His hearts game is going much as yours did while cruising on Gato Loco..
