Saturday morning, motoring north on flat seas with a heavy heart
as Frankie left the boat
this morning heading back to Phx. Bill & Vicki will fly with
her to Hermosillo where they will drive on to Cholla Bay. Frankie
was very
sad to leave but I'm sure seeing our dog Neely will quickly cheer
her up.
Steve joined the crew as scheduled
on Thur afternoon. We picked him up on the dock in Loerto and fetched
some supplies we desperately needed before motoring (no wind) back
to Puerto Escondido to anchor for the night. Friday morning we readied
Gato Loco
for the
cruise back north, water tanks full, fuel tanks full and thanks to
Rick a new anemometer wind speed indicator so we manage winds. Weather
has been fairly calm with afternoon breezes less than 10kts. Forecasts
have indicated that winds should have more of a S, SE component to
them which would put them at our back and hopefully strong enough to
fly
the spinnaker on our way north.
Friday afternoon we returned to Loreto
to anchor for the night and make it a easy airport transfer. Loreto is
a very friendly town with lots of history, shopping and dining, all of
which we enjoyed. We anchored in front of the malecon and a new restaurant
Mediterraneano just opened by a couple from Texas. It was a very pleasant
evening with
a full moon rising over Isla Carmen to the east.
 ..
After dinner we walked the central
plaza where a Mother's Day fiesta was underway. Speaking of Mothers
Day, I want to wish all mothers reading this a wonderfully Mother's
Day, Especial Betty, mine who I will miss this year. We might not be
in cell range tomorrow so enjoy.

Saturday, we head through the channel with Isla Coronados. AeroMexico
just flew
over us heading for Hermosillo so they've had a safe departure. Our
destination will probably be San Sebastian cove.
Steve
says hey to Cindy, his squeeze and the rest of the Albuquerque gang.

Bill we've got out first fish hookup and Steve is reeling it in. Turns
out to be a squid, just like the one Bill caught 2 years ago. We decided
to let that thing flop around until it got off the lure! Until
the Next Update. The Gato Loco Crew..
