Leisurely exit from Ensenada Posomoreno as we only had an easy 20 miles for the day. Headed directly for Isla San Pedro to check out the seal population and give Dave a chance to fish around the island. Light wind day with only 8 kts on the nose as we headed to San Pedro.
Quoting Dave, “we found more flies than fish on the island”. Spent some time bottom fishing and trolling the N end but no luck. Moved on to San Pedro Bay for the night 9 miles east of the island. Anchored in 13’ of water next to kelp bed on the west near the mountain point that forms the bay. BAM.. Dave caught 2 fish in 3 casts.. Dinner, fish and scallops..
Still an hour until sunset and time for a long walk on shore.. Today we motored early into San Carlos Marina. On first contact by radio they said there was no slips.. Bill went in to the office and sweet talked us into a slip. I guess this means the cruise is over.. Bummer… |
We plan on having the boat moved to the maintenance yard for new bottom paint so we went to work readying her to be pulled. Yes the cruise is over!!
Frankie and Dave folding jib..
Lowell making adjustments up the mast. Tomorrow we go to Guaymus and catch a bus back to Puerto Penasco. That will be another adventure!! We will send a final update when we get to Cholla Bay and let you known how the ride goes.. Until the Next update… The Gato Loco Crew |
