Lighter wind day with typical winds building from then SW and clocking to W (11kts) allowing us to fly the spinnaker. Temperature is noticeably warmer with crew (except Frankie) moving to cooler clothing. Arrived at Bahia Sargendo before sunset. Very shallow bay. We hoped to go ashore but it was still ½ mile away from our anchorage in 12 ft of water. Must be the home for a pad of 4-6 big dolphins that were with us all night and escorted us out of the bay this morning. Below is the view of Cabo Lobos as we passed. Petroleum fired power plant putting lots of smoke in the sky. Not much protection for anchoring here. |
While sailing with the spinnaker we found a way to launch the dinghie. Lowell pushed off with camera in hand (actually in waterproof bag) and tried to outrun Gato Loco. With a little help of dragging engines down we took a few spinnaker shots.
Frankie at Mast, Dave then Bill at the bow This morning we’ve started the leg around Isla Tiburon to the west. Dave has his line out hoping to provide fresh fish tonight. No luck on the past 2 days (except for a tiny barracuda). Until the next update… The Gato Loco Crew |
