Gato Loco Sailing - The San Carlos Cruise.

View as we approach Bahia Tepoca

 Sunday Feb 27

Dual head sails, 7.5kts speed on a broad reach in 13 kts of wind from the WSW summarizes our afternoon of sailing. Good winds and flat seas pushed us in to Bahia Tepoca before sunset. The Tepoca lighthouse stands prominently in full color at the point. Approaching we first thought we had an uncharted reef but it turned out to be another hug pad of small porpoise.

Each white dot is a fish hitting the surface

Bahia Tapoca is a good anchorage with all protection except south and you can move to the north of the point for south wind protection.  We had a very smooth restful night.

Off at 7 AM today heading to Bahai Sargento as planned. Looks like we will try to cruise into Cabo Lobos to check out the anchorage potential as we head down the cost.

Motoring this morning, looks to be a typical day with winds building mid-morning. Current ETA to Sargento 6 PM.

We’re having a great time!!!
