Gato Loco heads south
Good morning friends from the deck of Gato Loco. We’re off on our 2017 cruise season. Bill, John and I been working the provisioning for the past 2 days and hopefully we have it all together. We want to thank Kelli (crew member John’s wife) for bring us down Thursday getting everything rolling. She was invited to join us but rough seas don’t set well with her. John treated Kelli to an awesome dinner at Pani Vina Italian with a view for the entire Penasco area as a thank you.
We also want to give a shout out to Cory Rios and the Hourglass Cat for the great show Friday night. Great crowd and we could tell they were having a good time entertaining the crowd. You will hear the Cat’s music on video later in the blog.
We’re off to Puerto Lobos today about 80 kms south. Winds are forecasted to be lighter than Saturday. We’re hoping for a nice downwind ride south. Overnight weather was great for sleeping but the Banda Band that played till sunrise was not so good. Up at 5:30 and ready set go. Woo Hoo the cruise is under way. Be sure to check out the video at the end of the blog.
Until the next update.
You probably won’t hear from us until Wednesday..
Saturday afternoon the HOOD joined us for our last dinner in Penasco in a while. El Capitan sets on top of the hill near the light house and was extremely windy. Our first dinning location became problematic as tortilla chip started blowing off the table. Actually it would have been a prefect day to sail south with a west wind.

Check our quick tour of the Puerto Penasco area from the view of Bill’s drone we shot recently. You’ll also notice what happens to the narrator when he stays out late with crew member John drinking beer. It seems to impact my voice. Enjoy.
