Gato Loco Sailing – Birthdays in San Carlos.

April 4 – April 8,   2005

April 7th

Early morning light in Martini cove.

Today started early with Neely awake and ready to hit the beach. She did us a big favor as the clouds and light were very good for some photos. Up early, we decided to motor towards Bahia San Pedro and see if we could make it before the big north winds came up again. 10 AM and we set anchor at San Pedro and winds were only blowing 10-12.. Turned out to be a normal wind day finally. We took a long walk to the beach across the hill. Beaches are brown pebble stone and lots of shells (Frankie’s collecting). Three other boats are anchored with us. One from Albuquerque, one from Santa Fe and one from Durango all cruising together.

We decided to sail back to the marina this afternoon to have time to clean the boat and head to Cholla mid-day tomorrow. Down wind sail in 8kts back to San Carlos and seas have flattened making it very pleasant. Beautiful evening at the marina and we treated our selves to dinner at the dock side restaurant.

Frankie and Neely with light peeking over mountain behind.

Marina active tonight. We have a disco, the dock side restaurant and a Mexican restaurant with a live band all fairly close and hopping. Hope they shout down early.

By the way, we’ve found that we have wireless network access from the boat complements the restaurant and that’s why there are so many photos in this email.

On the road tomorrow.

Until the next update… The Gato Loco Crew
